Meet the Gemini Woman Online Team
To allow our customers to get to know our team a bit better, we asked each other a set of interview-style questions about our roles, the Gemini Woman team as a whole and a bit about ourselves! Becky – Senior E-commerce Manager
Tell us a bit about your role…. My job role is mostly managing the marketing and acquisition channel strategies and the agencies that support. I also manage the website development which covers site content changes, website and user experience improvements and specific projects such as developing our loyalty programme or our enhancing our courier/delivery programmes. I also take pride in managing a great team and making sure they feel valued through personal development in their roles. Mostly I say I love seeing the finished results of marketing, hard copy, email, printed or the launch of a campaign gives me a real sense of achievement.
Do you have any work traits…. I think it harder identifying one’s own traits but I’d say I’m organised and love an excel spreadsheet. With a role that is so multi-faceted, efficient juggling of a to-do list is a must have skill. I’d like to think I’m thought of as a fun, friendly and approachable manager.
What’s it like working at Gemini… Busy, no two days are the same, its full on and energetic. It’s also really exciting seeing stock coming in. Gemini is a lovely welcoming environment; Claire makes everyone feel like family and it’s a great place to grow and learn.
What don’t we know about you… I enjoy walking and walked 21 miles for the Meningitis charity at the end of September last year and plan to do it again!
Annette – Operations Manager
Tell us a bit about your role…. I’m a bit of a ‘jack of all’ in my role, as part of a small team we are all adept at multitasking. I manage the stock and order processes, making sure things happen when they are supposed to and making sure our business processes are efficient. I also support the business on our HR function, payroll, H&S and accounts. I have a background in events planning so look after off-site event planning too….and on occasion (when we’re desperate) model for campaigns and the website…a real mixed bag!
Do you have any work traits…. I’m organised and a bit of a perfectionist….though have learned, over time, when and where you need to flex on these to make sure things happen. I’m usually the first one in the office in morning…I get up and go to bed with the chickens.
What’s it like working at Gemini… Gemini is a unique business to work for, female-led and very supportive. Everyone has the opportunity to make an impact and at the same time feel valued. I’m lucky to work with a young, fun and friendly team so the social aspect is great too. Also, everyone gets a cake on their birthday….that is quite a lot of cake!
What don’t we know about you… I can tap dance...and upholster a chair….probably not at the same time though! 😊
Donna – Content and Buying Manager
Tell us a bit about your role…. I am responsible for all things content. I support Claire with the initial buying of the products and sourcing of new and exciting brands. Most importantly I deal with the upload and defining of the products from delivery to the site, not forgetting the styling for all our in-house and campaign shoots. I also help with marketing decisions giving my knowledge and understanding of the brands and our customers to the table when it comes to our email and social content. When selecting products at the buys I take into consideration what our customers have liked and disliked from past seasons and try to make commercial decisions based on what I think ‘you/they’ will like best from the latest collections that our beautiful brands have to offer. Hopefully we are doing a good job 😊
Do you have any work traits….
Reliable, with a strong work ethic – I’m not one to take time off. Even when I finish work I find it hard to switch off and am constantly finding and looking at inspiration with trends, marketing ideas, brands and styling.
What’s it like working at Gemini…
Having been here for almost 11 years I can safely say that’s it’s a very enjoyable place to work. I are fortunate to have a great team and boss in Claire. Being an independent business there is plenty of opportunity to have a voice and make an impact whilst learning new skills along the way. It’s very fast paced and no two days are the same which keeps it exciting!
What don’t we know about you…
I am a mummy to two lovely little monsters. I used to love dancing and appeared once on a TV show called ‘Mad For It’. Hopefully no one has a copy of it! thankfully social media wasn’t what it is today.
Jess – Lead Photographer
Tell us a bit about your role…. I lead the photography team. I do most of our in-house model shoots, product images, and ghost mannequin images for the website as well as the creative flat-lay and rail shots for socials!
Do you have any work traits…. Creative and willing to learn new skills
What’s it like working at Gemini… Brilliant, its the the most comfortable working environment I have worked in. Everyone is so friendly and willing to help you out when needed.
What don’t we know about you… I have played golf from the age of 8.
