Christmas Eve Plans

As Christmas fast approaches, it’s time to think about how best to spend your time over the festive period, if you haven’t already. For those still longing for some inspiration for Christmas Eve plans and Christmas Day, Gemini Woman have rounded up their top picks for things to do on Christmas Eve and throughout Christmas time!

  1.

    1. Christmas walks

On crisp, clear mornings over the Christmas period, Gemini Woman suggest that a Christmas walk is the best way to spend some quality time with loved ones, wrapped up warm in a big coat, hat scarf and gloves, and admiring the winter scenes in your local town or countryside!

Alongside being the most inexpensive option, Christmas is the time to pause and enjoy the little things in life, and a walk enables time to reflect on things we are grateful for. Take the scenic route this Christmas and enjoy a long calm walk with family, your dog, or a friend!

  5. Baking

The festive flavours and sweet treats around Christmas taste even better when homemade with love and shared with family and friends, why not attempt a festive recipe this Christmas Eve? This mince pie recipe by The Spruce Eats sounds amazing and Gemini Woman think it is definitely worth the recommendation. Another Christmas classic is a Yule log, the one and only Mary Berry from The Great British Bake Off has a great recipe on BBC Good Food, why not give it a try?

  1. Watch a pantomime

Nothing will get you in the Christmas spirit like a panto at Christmas, whether it is on Christmas eve, or before and after, if there are still tickets available at your local theatre Gemini Woman recommend purchasing tickets for you and your family or friends. This could even double as a great gift! From a Christmas carol, to Jack and the Beanstalk, to Cinderella, the traditional stories are always re-enacted beautifully. Here is a list of some pantomimes across the UK  and for those local to Gemini Woman, here is a run-down of Warwickshire pantomimes.

  1. Watch a Carol Service

Sticking with traditions, carol services are performed across the country on Christmas Eve and the surrounding dates. You can join in with the festivities by singing along to the songs that remind us what Christmas is truly about. Countryfile have a great rundown of the bets traditional Carol Services across the UK which you can read from here.

Christmas Movie Night

Miracle on 34th Street, The Grinch and Love Actually are all Gemini Woman favourites. Christmas films are broadcasted onto ITV and BBC on Christmas eve so everyone can enjoy their festive favourites on the night before Christmas Day. Grab a hot chocolate and a mince pie and escape from the world with a Christmas film.
